Intended use and limits

AXLEWARD OBD GUARD is a removable mechanical cover for the compatible factory OBD-II diagnostic socket of a stationary passenger vehicle. Use it only for a vehicle that has passed the AXLEWARD fit process and only as described in the supplied instructions.

The supplied instructions for the exact product revision take priority over this general page. OBD GUARD is an additional physical deterrent, not a guarantee against theft, an immobiliser, an insurer-approved device or a substitute for vehicle manufacturer guidance.

02

Critical warnings

Do not fit or remove the product while driving, do not force it, do not alter the lock or vehicle, and do not use it if it can move or interfere with a pedal, steering component, wiring, trim or driver clearance.

Never leave a loose lock or key in the footwell. Remove the lock before diagnostics. Keep small keys and packaging away from children.

03

Inspect and maintain

Inspect the product and installation periodically and after any servicing. Stop use if the metal, locking mechanism or key is damaged, the installation loosens, the socket moves or the surrounding area changes.

Do not lubricate, repair or dismantle the product unless the supplied instructions expressly permit it. Contact support for guidance.

04

Report an incident or suspected defect

Email safety@axleward.co.uk with the order reference, product or batch marking, vehicle details, photographs where safe, what happened and whether anyone was injured or property was damaged. Remove location and unrelated personal information before sending files.

Keep the product and packaging unless doing so would be unsafe. We may ask you to stop use, isolate the product, return it through a specified route or provide further evidence for traceability and corrective action.

05

Safety notices and corrective action

Where a product presents a risk, MB Helmar may contact affected customers, suspend sale, issue revised instructions, arrange inspection, repair or replacement, or recall the product. Follow any notice linked to your batch or order promptly.

AXLEWARD keeps order and product traceability records to support these actions and reports unsafe or non-compliant products to the relevant authority where required.
